Timeline

Timeline of learning throughout this unit.

28-1-25 – Learning about paper stock and binding terms, finding out more about self publishing and what’s involved. writing out a skills audit and thinking about what other skills would be suitable to add to it, learning more on digital brushes on Procreate to help with future illustrations and experimenting.

07-02-25 – Learning about publishers, children’s picture book and general children’s publishers and also printers of children books and in particular children’s picture books, Looking into other portfolios on websites, picking up tips and tricks of how to make mine better, learning a lot about the AOI, how this can help me now and in the future.

13-02-25- Learning about children’s book agents especially the Illo agency, and implementing the first draft of my critical review.

21-02-25 – Learning about good portfolios from other illustrators, research and the agent, character work and what to aim for in my illustration book and also on my website, reviewing the mid point and reflecting so far. Putting in place portfolio website up-dates, changes from what I have learnt so far.

07-03-25 – Learning how to improve my spot illustrations, adding more to my skills audit, researching into networks, writing down some objectives for unit 3.3. Learning about sensory paper, adding more written work to my critical review on digital vs traditional art work methods.

14-03-25 – Working and learning more on depth, shading and texture on the illustrations, learning to bullet point my review to work out an order for finalising and reflecting so far.

28-03-25 – Finalising art work and illustrations, working and learning more about facial expressions, and also the compositions of the spot illustrations. Working on and learning about a good critical review layout.

04-04-25 – Working on and learning about summarising my critical review. Working on and learning about all those small details to my illustrations, more shading, birds in the background, stars and compositions again. Thinking about and learning about my reflection on the whole unit.

11-04-25 – Finished finalising final art work pieces, showing finalised portfolio on my website, and the final art work in situ over there. Critical review set out and finalised after all the changes, up-dated my objectives for unit 3.3, and learning about and reflecting on the questions in the brief to review.

14-04-25- 09-05-25 Assessment work

Extra research learning more about many illustrators and their work, also sustainability projects.

Working on art work piece 3 to change the composition to make it better before assessment.

Changing the critical review title and sub titles so it works better as a question.

Putting art work into slide form and learning about this.

Writing this time line and learning to do this so I can see what I have achieved and learnt for this unit and how to reflect on it to move forward and bring what I have learnt into my illustrations and working life.
