Book mock up

I started my book mock up on InDesign, I had already set out my book plan in another exercise, so it was already for me to import the illustrations into the software.

I started with the front cover, then when in order and completed pages 1,2,3 etc. I had a few problems with the double page spreads as they didn’t quite match up in the middle, but this was not a problem and was easily fixed by air dropping the images into Procreate and adjust the illustrations from there. It was just a case of taking the line away, and adding in some extra leaves or sky etc.

I continued all the way through the book, adding the end papers and publishers page, and also the back cover.

Her are the changed double page spreads in order, after I erased the line down the middle and adjusted the images so they continued into each other and flowed.

I am still finishing off two half pages and one information page, which I will do in the next few days. Also I need to up-load the changed double page spreads from above onto the book plan on InDesign.

Here are the revised double pages in situ in the book plan on InDesign:-

I have completed the missing pages and also added in another starter page, as I noticed the children’s picture books that I have been using as reference, have a title page inside the front cover. I then changed the publishers page to the back, as I noticed this was different too in the reference books.

So the book mock up in InDesign is now completed.
