The revised book

Flora the gardening Angel

Flora was sad sitting in the garden dip, all her animal and nature friends don’t visit anymore, everything was looking troubled.

Terrence tree said the children had been pulling his branches and kicking his trunk.

Betty bee said her flowers where she gets her nectar from have been pulled apart and trampled on, the bushes had started to not flower anymore.

“What happened” said Flora to Terrence.

“The children have been unkind” he said.

“What can I do to help?” said Flora.

“Help the plants and trees flower and grow again, and bring our friends back” said Terrence.

Hmm, how am I going to do this? thought Flora.

Rory was looking out of his bedroom window, it was a sunny day but the sun had just gone behind a cloud. He could see something sparkling in the garden dip.

Rory went to see what it was.

Rory sees a tiny little fairy sitting on a rock.

“Hello, why do you look so sad?” said Rory.

“Our garden is not happy and all my friends have left” said Flora.

“Why did they leave” exclaimed Rory.

“Some local children have been too rough with the trees and plants, kicking, snapping and trampling on the flowers, all the birds, insects and animals have left” said Flora.

Rory could see the garden didn’t look the same as it once did, he also knew he was one of the children that had been a bit rough with the trees. He felt very sorry and didn’t;t realise that it could make the garden look so bad.

“How can I help?” said Rory.

“Come with me” said Flora, “hop on this leaf!”

Rory and Flora flew to another garden nearby ‘Wow’ it looked so good, it was so colourful, so many flowers, the trees looked so happy and lush.

The grass was so green, there was birds, bee’s, butterflies, moths, insects, hedgehogs, squirrels, ducks, dragonflies and so many plants and different types of leaves and foliage.

Lots of the insects and birds came over to greet Rory.

“If I help Flora with the other garden will you promise to come and visit the trees and plants again” said Rory.

“Yes” said Wendy woodpecker.

Flora and Rory flew back to the garden dip.

“Don’t worry” said Rory, “I will get us some help”.

Rory spoke to his friends about his little adventure to the other garden and Flora.

They all felt so bad and could see they needed to look after the garden and be gentle with it, they missed the way it used to look and how happy it made them feel.

The next morning Flora woke up with a start! what is that noise?

The children were all around the garden, some were watering the plants, some were talking to the trees, some were weeding.

Rory came over to Flora and said “My mum gave us these seeds and bulbs, can you help us plant them and tell us where they should go?”

Flora was so pleased, Terrence looked happy talking to the children, Betty was excited what new flowers would bloom from the seeds.

The garden would look amazing in a few weeks, with all the love that it was being given.

After a few months of love and attention the garden was back and better than before, all the insects and animals had come back, and now all the families from around the garden came out and had lovely picnics in the glorious dip.

Rory was Floras new gardening Angel!
