Skills audit

1, I currently use my IMac computer and an Epsom printer, a iPad and Procreate app. I use watercolour paint, Gansai Japanese paints and self granulating paints, as well as traditional Windsor and Newton watercolour paints. I use watercolour pencils for details and shading, acrylic ink and some watercolour pens, Posca, Copic and Ecoline.

I make technical repeat patterns using my illustrations to create surface pattern designs.

2, I would say I am proficient to expert, I teach and tutor watercolour and art classes.

3, Try out more new brushes on Procreate, which I do in my spare time.

4, Whittle down a core selection of brushes I use the most for my work to keep the ‘look’ consistent.

5, Adding the surface pattern into my work.

6, Looking more at the pattern, composition and story to get it right.

7, Knowing where the best place to position the pattern on the page to make the most effect to the story and the visual.

8, I want to work a lot more on my portfolio website, adding new work, and the range of my work that I can do i.e. illustration work, surface pattern, watercolour, book covers, posters etc.

I also want to post more on my social media accounts, I used to do this really consistently and it really helped my work and bought work in for me, but since moving house last year to another part of the country, things have gone off track, so I would like to set that up again, which will also help me to get some new work in my new city.
