Produce a short reflective commentary that summarises the work you have done, and articulates the rationales for the choices within your Major Project Plan.
My main aim for 3.3 Major project is to complete the art work for my children picture book ‘The Gardening Angel’ I started this project in 3.1 Practise and research, and did my critical review on a relevant topic which worked alongside this project. I have written the book, and completed the art work on all the spreads and front and back cover to a basic level.
In 3.2 External Partners I worked with a children’s book agent, to get tips and knowledge on how to finalise my illustrations to a good standard that would be commercial for publishing. Using the knowledge I gained from her as well as research I completed 8 of the spreads, and spots to a really good standard that I am happy with going forward. To finish the whole project and to achieve my main goal when starting this whole degree pathway is to illustrate the whole book, to then be able to pull everything together to finish my first Children’s Picture book for publishing, and become a children’s book illustrator.
I have worked a lot on my ‘Style’ which combines mixed media art work to create a unique style and that will identify my work from others on the market.
Working on children’s books that promote helping the environment, and teaching children what we need to achieve to get the environment back to a point of less destruction.
