Feedback 3

Thank you for your feedback from project plans 2 & 3. I have started the annotation process on the spreads and pages, and yes it is like they are waiting in the wings to come onto the stage! The only problem is that you could keep annotating again and again, and knowing when to stop is the decision to be made. I am having a bit of trouble with some of the spreads as I feel I cannot properly complete them or make the final decision, until some of the other spreads are completed, but this should all come together towards the end of the unit.

Thank you for your feedback on the paid work situation, sometimes you loose focus on what your aims are, when you are trying to help out other people, and its knowing when to put that boundary back in place so you can continue your priorities. This small written paragraph from you really hit home, and I have been able to re focus my intentions and goals, so thank you for that.

Thank you for the information on the foreground and background processes similar to the animation process, I found this interesting and similar to a children’s book illustrator Helen Kellock who I have a few books of, she has a outline to her foreground illustrations and her background ones are more painterly or airbrushed, it shows a good dynamic and different style which I like.

I love the word Wimmelbild, and yes some of my pages are very detailed and busy, this is a great term to know about and I could use in the future.

Yes we are both up to the correct plan now thank you for getting the other feedback completed quickly. I have had a look at Marc Boutavant’s work, and yes they are like etchings, there seems to be a lot of children’s book illustrators that have that style these days, its amazing how the digital artwork is hard to distinguish between other methods.

I have been in touch with student services and they are sorting out the problem I had with the access to student conversations, I have also had another problem in this unit whereby I was unable to access Exercise 2 (The reading task) as it says I was denied access also to this one! I have contacted them for both, so hopefully I’ll be able to complete those exercises soon.

Thank you for the link for the Font testing, that’s a great find, I’m hoping to do some research on fonts in an upcoming project plan, so that will come in very handy.

I have started to use a drawing grid on some of the pages where I was having a difficult time of getting the illustration correct, I have used the drawing guide on the iPad but these grids are a bit small, so I’ll work on creating some larger ones, but its helping so far.

I am going to re-work the project plan for the next submission, I want to add a few more bits of work I want to do in the months to come, and some research, so some of the dates may change going forward to accommodate these, but I will highlight those so you know in advance.
