Exercise 3

If you have not done so already, make use of any available group activities for support. Use your Department Space and Creative Conversations to find out when the next group activity is happening.

It is always helpful to take onboard the perspectives of others, as well as presenting your work for feedback. Talking to others may help you consider how you showcase your work, or hear about possibilities you might not have thought about.

Do this as often as you can. It will help you in broadening your viewpoints, test your presentation skills, and your contribution will also support the progress of others.

I found this exercise difficult as I seem to not be allowed to enter into conversations through the link provided, it states access denied, you are not allowed to enrol yourself on this course contact student services to enrol on your degree course.

But I do group activities with fellow illustrators anyway, some that I have known through this degree course and also others I met through a surface pattern course, we are all friends on Instagram as live in different parts of the country. We often do group activities together online, we did a sketchbook circle in a previous unit. A few of us met up in London to go to the London Illustration fair and we have also collaborated on a few projects together to create some artwork.
I intend to use this group to help with some feedback on my illustration spreads for this book. They are all in different areas of illustration so it’s interesting to see different perspectives on the artwork.
