I have written a few personal statements before, mainly for my portfolios, websites or social accounts. I currently have one on my website which I’ll insert below, which I completed in the last unit, the main part was the same as I had it before this change, but my tutor suggested I update if for the book agent.
I have also researched other illustrators personal statements before in this degree, but have looked at a few of my favourite illustrators from this last year and found a few with different concepts. Emma Block, Sarah Massini, Beatrice Blue and Beatrice Alemagna.
Beatrice Alemagna has elements from her picture books, her style, career to date, collaborations, representation, inspiration and materials she uses, these are all paragraphs she has put into her personal statement.
