I have chosen these 10 images and links for my assessment work:
- Front cover – This embodies the book, the final colour palette, it is bright and eye catching.
2. Character designs of Flora, I think the stages of her design, along with the colour tests really worked and grew into the final Flora.
3. The watercolour, painterly textures and composition of this 1/2 page spread.
4. The unique design of this cameo page, how I used the surface pattern to bring a texture to the background.
5. The good use of surface pattern here, it works seamlessly with the illustration, and also really suits the butterfly wings.
6. This full page spread, its very colourful, shows the change in the limited colour of the first half of the book.
7. the singular illustrations I used here, this was a last minute change to the page, but I think it adds extra interest to the page and the whole book.
8. The good composition of this 1/2 page spread, it has 4 characters in it but doesn’t feel too busy, I like the way Thomaz is lounging on Terrence’s branch, the colours are soft and friendly, but bright, which is the feeling of the page.
9. The back cover, because of the surface pattern used, and the soft pastel colours.
10. My critical review now its up-dated with the extra research I have added into it. I think my review works very well with the book project, they work hand in hand. I am happy with the critical review and enjoyed the process very much, and have learnt a lot about the subject too.
