Art work spread 5&6

The second spread I completed was intending to be pages 5&6, but due to a time constraint I adjusted the pages around and completed the spread pages 16&17.
My list for these two pages were to get the artwork to match in the middle, I also had to swop around pages 16 and 17 as they had been put the wrong way around.
Add a lot more flowers and background details, add some animals preferably a rabbit, hedgehog and one other, a few more insects and to create more of a jungle effect, but with British flowers. Completed the layered effects so it looks like there is some depth to the artwork and illustrations.

Adding variations of scale to the flowers.

British flowers Foxgloves, they also prefer semi shade so work well under trees.

Agapanthus – I wanted to create some foreground flowers, that come in over the edges of the pages.

Added another bird as this area looked empty, there needed to be something to focus on.

Then I added a fox to the left hand bottom corner to add some extra focus, I think the orange colour pops in the artwork and having it dotted throughout the scene, helps draw the eye across to turn the page to the next page.
Again I will come back to this page later on, to check it works with the other finished pages, works seamlessly and also consistently flows into each other and with the story.
